Cliffs of Moher Elopement: A Brave Couple's Story
Amanda and Sean's Intimate Elope in Ireland at the Cliffs of Moher
Amanda and Sean traveled all the way from America to elope in Ireland and have a Celtic Hand-fasting ceremony at the Cliffs of Moher in December. However, Mother Nature had other plans, as the winds were too crazy and gusty for the ceremony to take place on the cliffs. Plan B was put into action, and we searched for shelter to keep out of the rain and wind. We were lucky to find the beautiful Kilmacreehy Church ruins in Liscannor - Loughloon. Despite the challenging weather, Amanda and Sean bravely went ahead with the ceremony.Liscannor is a small fishing village located on the far side of Liscannor Bay, known for its popular beach to the west of the village. The ruined castle in Liscannor was originally built in the 12th century by the O'Connors and later became an O'Brien stronghold, occupied by Sir Turlough O'Brien during the threatened invasion at the time of the Spanish Armada (1588). The Kilmacreehy Church, also known as St. Macreehy's Church, dates back to the 12th century and was built on the site of a famous 6th-century school founded by St. Macreehy. After the ceremony, we attempted a little walk near the Cliffs of Moher, but again, the winds were too strong the closer we got to the cliffs. Amanda and Sean's story serves as a reminder that sometimes, things don't go as planned, but with a little bravery and adaptability, beautiful moments can still be created. Best wishes to the happy couple!
"Johnny is an absolutely amazing photographer! We planned our destination wedding from the U.S. and our planner recommended Johnny. After looking at his website and reading reviews there was no question that we wanted him to capture our special day. He did an unbelievable job and we are so thankful for all the beautiful memories!

“May the raindrops fall lightly on your brow,
May the soft winds freshen your spirit,
May the sunshine brighten your heart,
May the burdens of the day rest lightly upon you,
And may God enfold you in the mantle of His love.”
