What to Expect from Your Couple Photoshoot in Ireland

Hey there! Whether you’re a pro at posing or this is your first time in front of a professional lens, don’t sweat it. You’re in good company!

As your photographer, my main goal is to make you feel as chill and natural as possible during our session. Here’s how we’ll do it…

No Awkward Poses - I want you to feel like yourselves. No stiff poses or micro-managing here! Our sessions are all about FUN and ROMANTIC. I’ll guide you to move, interact, and connect with each other in different ways. It’s time to cuddle up, play with her hair, kiss his cheek, hold hands, and embrace.

Reflecting Your Relationship - I’ll guide you in a way that mirrors your everyday relationship. If any of my suggestions don’t feel right, it’s 100% OKAY to say no. I want you to feel comfortable and for our time together to feel like a normal day for you two.

No Forced Smiles - I won’t ask you to stand still and smile at the camera. The only exception might be the ‘mantelpiece’ photo for your family (you know, the one your Nana might want to frame). But most of our session will be about creating moments between you two, not between you and the camera. Get ready to ramp up the romance!

Be Yourself - You don't need to look or act like a model to get great images. The best photos happen when you relax, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and focus on each other. These are the moments that will create wonderful memories.

What to wear for your photoshoot?

With my natural and organic editing style, I recommend wearing colours like creams, mustard, greens, burgundy, navy, or blues. Let’s skip black to make sure you stand out and look fantastic in your photoshoot! Given the lush and sometimes dark green landscapes of Ireland (depending on the season), a cosy knit jumper, a long flowing dress, or a classic long coat with a warm scarf can look super stylish and keep you warm.

When it comes to coordinating outfits with your partner, aim for harmony, not matchy-matchy. Pick outfits from the same style family, be it formal or casual, or choose colors that complement each other.

Remember, comfort and confidence are key during the photoshoot, so wear something that makes you feel amazing!

For the ladies: Picture a long, flowing dress that billows in the wind (Outlander style), or jeans paired with a warm, fluffy Aran jumper. For the gents: Imagine Aran jumpers with chinos or jeans!

And don’t forget, I’m here to help you capture an unforgettable Irish adventure that you’ll cherish forever. Let’s make it a fun and memorable experience!

Spring
(March-May)
:

Enjoy the longer days and blooming flowers. Be ready for some wind and rain, but the tourist spots are less crowded.

When is the best time?

As an adventurous photographer, I find each season in Ireland offers its own unique charm:

Summer
(June to August)
:

Experience the longest days of the year, vibrant landscapes, and plenty of outdoor activities like beach trips or sunset hikes.

Fall
(September to November)
:

My personal favorite for couple photos! Enjoy the beautiful autumn colours and fewer tourists at popular locations. It’s a great time for cozy indoor activities too.

Winter
(December to February)
:

Shorter days but unique opportunities for photos in the snow. Enjoy cozy indoor activities like visiting a traditional Irish pub or a castle.

In addition to these, Ireland’s dramatic coastlines, historic castles, and charming towns offer countless picturesque locations for your photoshoot. Let’s embark on a photographic adventure and create unforgettable memories in the beautiful landscapes of Ireland, no matter the season!

What if it rains on our photoshoot?

Ireland’s weather is as changeable as it is charming, and as an adventurous photographer, I encourage couples not to get too hung up on it. Instead, see it as an opportunity to add a unique twist to your photoshoot.

Rain or shine, Ireland’s rich history and culture make it a perfect backdrop for your romantic photoshoot. While sunny days may seem ideal, there’s something uniquely magical about embracing the rain. It can add a moody, ethereal quality to the photos, creating a dreamy and romantic atmosphere. Imagine strolling hand in hand under an umbrella, sharing a loving gaze as the rain gently falls around you, or embracing each other as the rain pours down, creating a captivating and cinematic moment.

Of course, staying warm and dry is important. But that doesn’t mean sacrificing style! With stylish waterproof jackets, rain boots, and umbrellas (which I can provide), you can create a chic and practical look. Layered clothing can keep you cozy while allowing you to show off your unique sense of style.

As a photographer, I use creative techniques to add a magical touch to the photos, such as capturing reflections on a wet surface or shooting through raindrops on a window. And let’s not forget about the locations! Ireland has plenty of charming and picturesque spots that offer some protection from the rain while still providing a stunning backdrop for the photos.

So, let’s embrace the rain and create a truly unforgettable experience that captures the essence of your love story in a unique and beautiful way.
