Let It Go: Why You Shouldn't Wipe Away Your Tears During Your Elopement or Adventure Shoot

As a photographer, I understand that your wedding day or adventure shoot can be an emotional rollercoaster. From the joy of saying "I do" to the thrill of exploring new places, there are plenty of moments that can bring tears to your eyes. And while it's natural to want to wipe those tears away, I'm here to tell you that you don't have to. In fact, letting those tears flow can make for some of the most beautiful and authentic photos of your day.

Here are a few reasons why you should embrace those tears and let me capture them:

Emotion is what makes your photos special.

Whether you're eloping in a stunning natural setting or embarking on an adventure shoot, your photos should capture the essence of your love story. And what better way to do that than by showcasing the emotions you're feeling in the moment? When you let those tears flow, you're allowing me to capture the raw, unfiltered emotion of your day. These are the moments that you'll look back on for years to come and remember exactly how you felt.

Wiping away your tears can disrupt the moment.

When you're in the middle of an emotional moment, the last thing you want to do is disrupt it by wiping away your tears. This can take you out of the moment and distract you from what's happening around you. By letting those tears flow, you can stay in the moment and fully experience all the emotions of your day. And as your photographer, I'll be there to capture it all.

It's okay to be vulnerable.

Weddings and adventure shoots can be stressful, but they can also be incredibly rewarding. When you let those tears flow, you're showing your vulnerability and your willingness to be open and honest with your partner. This is a beautiful thing, and it's something that should be celebrated and captured. So don't be afraid to let those tears flow - it's a sign of your strength and your love.

Let me know if you have any specific preferences or concerns.

As your photographer, I want to make sure that you feel comfortable and at ease throughout your elopement or adventure shoot. If you or your partner are not typically emotional or don't expect to cry during your shoot, it's perfectly fine to let me know that ahead of time. On the other hand, if either of you are prone to tears or expect to be emotional, please do let me know so that I can be prepared to capture those moments.

Knowing about your emotional tendencies can also help me plan the timing and location of your shoot. For example, if you or your partner are more likely to cry during your vows, we can plan to have those at a location that provides privacy, or during a time of day when there are fewer people around. Alternatively, if you both expect to be emotional during your adventure activities, we can plan to do those earlier in the day when you're feeling fresh and energised.

Make your elopement or adventure shoot personal and unique.

One of the best things about elopements or adventure shoots is the opportunity to make them truly personal and unique. If you have a special poem or song that you'd like to incorporate into your shoot, go for it! This is your day, and it should reflect your personalities and your love story. As your photographer, I'm here to help you bring your vision to life and capture all the special moments that make your day truly unforgettable.

Ultimately, my goal as your photographer is to capture the essence of your love story and the beauty of your elopement or adventure shoot, while also respecting your preferences and concerns. So please don't hesitate to let me know about any special requests or considerations you may have - I'm here to help make your day as memorable and stress-free as possible.
